My name is Paul Dorr, and I used to lead the Sioux Falls rescue movement (Operation Rescue) 40 years ago. Many Protestant and Catholic pastors, as well as the then Catholic Bishop Paul Dudley, along with nearly 70 additional Christians, used to get arrested and do jail time with me for peacefully blocking the doors to Buck Williams’s abortion clinic, then on Louise Ave. (This included former South Dakota State Senator Tim Begalka, Clear Lake, SD, and Mary Haugaard, wife of former South Dakota House Majority leader Steve Haugaard.) In time, I soon found out how abortion (both surgical and more so, chemical) was going to stay secured in the state. It was the sexual, contraceptive, and abortion sins within the Christian church.
Some of us used to dumpster-dive Buck Williams’ dumpster at 2:30 am some mornings, and we routinely found the old manual appointment book listing Christian girls in for an “Ab” (Abortion). This was before the digitized office.
In time, I figured out that the sexual sins and murderous sins of pre-born human life were protected by and even promoted by people like Leslee Unruh. But I wasn’t the only one. Many others who used to work with and for Unruh, whom I have talked to, have seen it over the years but lack the moral courage to declare what they know. Some have told me she usually ‘has something on them.’ It’s not hard to imagine when one is active in classroom sex talk, as Unruh is. So much for redemption through Christ’s completed work on the cross.

It all started here on June 3, 1987. Well, not really. It goes further back than this. But the full story of these criminal charges against her has never been told. I will summarize by stating she skated on these charges because of the sexual sins of others.

Rescue the Perishing’s Press Release of September 1994 said if the U.S. District Court, Planned Parenthood, and the Alpha Center are all going to dishonor parental authority, then Rescue The Perishing will honor them by calling the parents of any girl who entered the abortion clinic. License plates were public record back then. Some of the accounts of what God did during this period to stop a girl from murdering her child were amazing.
But also interesting is Sept. 12, 1994, when sidewalk counseling at Buck Williams’ abortion clinic, a banker walked up and asked if anyone here was Paul Dorr. I identified myself, and he said he read this clip in Argus the day before, posted below. “For the first time, I think the pro-life movement may stand a chance in South Dakota. The business community knows what a fake Unruh is. If you get rid of people like her, the public will take this movement seriously. Who does she think she is, not notifying a girl’s parents?“
When Unruh meets someone with greater Biblical fidelity, who cares more for babies than money and power, and starts to question her very public sinful policies – and Christians start listening – it doesn’t faze her to call the U.S. Attorney’s office and work with the F.B.I. and try to get them to bring criminal charges against the principled pro-lifer. She did it to me in 1994. After a few months of investigation, the F.B.I. dismissed the case, apparently realizing Unruh was a pathological exaggerator and liar.
Men live in dangerous times today, and even back then, as Dr. Stephen Baskerville says in his book Sexual Politics, feminism has brought us an accusatory culture and judicial system. The Salem witch trials look like a walk in the park compared to how lying women are so easily believed in the courts and in the culture – evidence be hanged.
Justice, evidence, and truth don’t matter to feminists like Unruh. I knew this and decided to meet the FBI ‘straight up.’ It worked, and the case against me was dismissed. Over the years, I’ve been interviewed three times by federal law enforcement agents (twice by the FBI) for my standing in the public square for Christ. Each time, the investigations turned out to be a goose egg.
It took me nearly two years after I submitted a FOIA request of the U.S. Department of Justice to receive their 57-page heavily redacted report on me. Below are three pages of it. The second page shows an agent’s notes taken during his interview with Unruh. The Alpha Center and Unruh are all through this 57-page report. They were coordinating with the abortionist Buck Williams at the time, too. Does this really seem like one who wants to end mass murder by chemical and surgical abortion and wants to restore sexual purity and marital fertility in the state of South Dakota?
